Michelle Levin has worked exclusively in family and matrimonial law since she started practicing law. Michelle represents clients in all areas of family law regardless of whether the case is in the beginning stages or has been ongoing for some time.

Michelle's favorite parts of her job are assisting people through one of the most difficult times of their lives and seeing the transformation of a client from when they first retained her to when their case is closed. Her least favorite part of her job is watching clients she cares about suffer through painful or contentious divorces and family disputes.

Michelle joined Family Focused Legal Solutions after she completed a one-year Judicial Law Clerkship with the Honorable Catherine I. Enright, former Presiding Judge of the Family Part in Morris County, New Jersey. As a law clerk, Michelle worked on cases in all areas of family law, including but not limited to matrimonial and non-dissolution cases, separation, discovery, alimony, equitable distribution, child custody and child support issues. She was also a Court Certified mediator and mediated small claims, landlord tenant, and matrimonial and non-dissolution cases.

During law school, Michelle served as a notes editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy, represented children in child abuse and neglect cases as a Certified Legal Intern for the Child and Family Advocacy Clinic, and volunteered with the Domestic Violence Project, where she provided legal advice to victims of domestic violence. It was during her time at the clinic and her volunteer work with the Domestic Violence Project that Michelle knew she wanted to practice solely in the area of family law.

Michelle brings her fur baby, a long-haired dachshund named Savannah, with her to the office most days. While Michelle spends her day working and advocating for her clients, Savannah spends her day sleeping on a chaise lounge, begging for food, and playing with her toys (must be nice!).

Michelle’s work as a family law attorney has been recognized by Avvo, an independent legal organization. Her profile, references, peer endorsements, awards and recognitions, testimonials, and additional background information can be viewed on her Avvo profile.

Life Outside the Office

Michelle lives in Morris County with her dog, Savannah. She is an avid traveler and has been to five continents. She was aiming for number six (Africa) in 2020, but alas, COVID-19 ruined her plans. Hopefully, she will get number six in the coming years. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and friends (she has been a bridesmaid 11 times), binge watch TV shows, and peruse the web for celebrity gossip. Her knowledge of celebrities is unparalleled. She also has an unhealthy obsession with the book “Outlander.” She may or may not have a life-size cutout of the actor who plays the lead character on the TV show.

You May Not Know

  • Michelle once do-si-doed with her celebrity crush, Sam Heughan (lead in “Outlander”), on Live with Kelly and Ryan. There is documented proof (yes, she recorded the episode in case she was on TV). This was the best day of her life thus far.
  • Michelle has watched the show Friends countless times and can quote all Friends episodes.
  • Michelle played Rugby in college and law school. She was known for growling at her opponents.
  • Michelle listens to audiobooks on double speed (sometimes 2.5), because normal speed is much too slow. To other people, it sounds like gibberish.
